Hello my name is Shelly Hurley.  I am an Instructional Specialist at Hutto Middle School.  I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1991, began teaching in Lubbock, then moved to and taught in Arizona for 6 years.  I then became a Science Coach in El Paso, TX before coming to Hutto.  This is my fifth year at HMS and have been in district for nine years. Hutto ISD is a great place for me!!

As one of the Instructional Specialist at HMS, my job is to help support teachers with curriculum and development.  I work with all teachers on best practices for the classroom, help assess the curriculum, provide intervention, and promote student success.  I am on the campus leadership team, P.B.L. cohort team member, and the U.I.L. coordinator.

This year I am also teaching a P.A.L.s class.  Peer Assisted Leadership is a class where we study the leadership skills that will help students be more successful in school and in life.  I am excited for the new year and have great things planned for supporting our students and staff with 21st Century learning.
