 Makeup Work Policy

Due at the beginning of each class period

Is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements for any missed work--they have to see me BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL!

Students are allowed 3 school days after their return from an absence to complete make-up work for full credit. After the 3 days, the highest grade/most credit a student will receive is 70.

If an absence is longer than 5 days, the teacher and student should make acceptable arrangements.

HMS Late Policy

Students may turn in work three days late after the original due date. After the three day period, the assignment will become a zero and will not be accepted.

10 points will be deducted for each day the assignment is late.

If it is turned in two days late, the highest a student can make is a 80, three days late, highest possible score is 70.  After 3 days, the grade stays a zero.

We're hoping the new late policy will encourage students to turn in assignments in a timely manner the first time since they will no longer be able to turn in several missing assignments at the end of a 3 week or 6 week grading period.
